Window Cleaner
Forget Windex! The best way to clean your windows is with Dawn dish soap. Fill a spray bottle (we love this one) with water and a drop of dawn. Use this mixture just like you would Windex or any other window cleaner!
Carpet Stain Remover
Before replacing your stained carpet, try this DIY carpet stain remover. Mix 1/2 cup of hydrogen peroxide with 1/4 cup Dawn dish soap in a spray bottle. Spray on the carpet stains and scrub away those pesky stains!

Laundry Stains
Dawn can be used to get out a number of laundry stains. For stains like grease, oil, butter, etc apply dawn directly to the stain and scrub until the oil is removed and the stain is gone. Then wash as usual!
Weed Killer
A really surprising way to use Dawn is as a weed killer. Mix 1/2 teaspoon of Dawn, 1/2 cup of salt, and 1/2 gallon of white vinegar and spray or pour directly on the weeds. Make sure to avoid any plants you do not want to kill. This is a great natural way to keep the weeds at bay!
Catch Flies
Getting ready to have a picnic? With this hack, you won’t have to worry about flies bothering your food. Put a couple drops of Dawn in a container and add white vinegar. Put the container where the flies are. They will be attracted to the vinegar but will get stuck in the Dawn.
Kills Fleas
Next time your dog or cat gets fleas, bathe them right away in a mixture Dawn and white vinegar. It kills fleas on contact and cheaper than flea and tick shampoo. We like to keep a mixture on hand for quick use.
Clean Outdoor Furniture
Over the summer, outdoor furniture can go from bright and new to dingy and gray pretty quickly. To get it clean, mix Dawn with warm water and wipe down your furniture. Then rinse the furniture clean with a hose.
For the cushions, you can wet them and then scrub with a mixture of Dawn and water. Then spray them clean with your hose. Make sure to get out all the soap. After they are clean and dry spray them down with Scotchgard Water Sheild to repel any future dirt and stains.
Grill Cleaner
After a barbeque, it can be intimidating to think about cleaning all the cooked on food off your grill. But there is an easy way to do it! Grab a large trash bag and put the grill rack in the bag. Pour 1/2 cup of Dawn into the bag and a gallon of water. Let the bag sit overnight and then the next day scrub the rack with a wire brush and then give it a good rinse! It should be good as new!
Plastic Pool Cleaner
Instead of using harmful chemicals to clean your kid’s pools, use Dawn. Mix dawn and warm soapy water to scrub away dirt and grime. It is a safer alternative and the pools will last longer!
Remove Gum From Hair
When your child accidentally gets gum in their hair, don’t panic! You can easily use Dawn dish soap to get it out. Put dawn on your fingertips and rub it into the gum and the surrounding hair. Then use your fingers or a comb to put the gum out. Add more dawn when necessary.
Remove Hair Products
Over time hair products can leave a residue on our hair that doesn’t get washed out with regular shampoo. To reduce the buildup from products like hairspray and foams, wash your hair with Dawn and then condition regularly. It will remove buildup and residue and leave your hair clean and fresh!
Unclog Toilets
If your toilet gets clogged, don’t fret! Instead of rushing to the store for a chemical de-clogger, first, try Dawn dish soap. Pour a cup of dawn dish soap into the toilet and let it sit for 30 minutes. Then pour a bucket of hot water into the toilet. The dish soap should release the clog and you’ll be good to go!
Tub & Shower Cleaner
Fill a spray bottle halfway with white vinegar and heat for 45 seconds. Then fill the rest of the way with Dawn dish soap. Shake the mixture well and then spray it on to your tub and shower walls. Let sit for 5 minutes and then wash the mixture away. It will remove all the dirt and grime that builds up on your shower walls!

Grease Spills
If you have unwanted grease spills in your driveway you can clean them up with Dawn! First, clean up the spill as much as you can with an absorbing powder or towels. Then use dawn and warm water to scrub the spot until the rest of the grease spill is gone.

Easily fix a squeaky door by using a drop of dawn to the hinge. You can also use it to lubricate tracks of sliding doors and windows!
