There are a ton of different ways you can organize kitchen utensils! In a utensil holder crock, in a drawer, with a drawer organizer, etc! But I have found that most people organize their utensils in a drawer and that is how I do it too! I use the largest drawer in my kitchen to store our kitchen utensils. And then I use bamboo drawer dividers to keep the drawer organized. These bamboo drawer dividers have been a life saver!
Before I had the bamboo drawer organizer the drawer was just a mess all the time. Rolling pins would move around, spatulas would get buried on the bottom, and I could NEVER find the potato peeler. It was disorganized and frustrating! So I ordered these bamboo drawer dividers from Amazon and have not regretted it for one second!
I group the tools in my kitchen utensil drawer just by how they fit the best. Spatulas and tongs go together, rolling pins and whisk together and then turners and spoons together as well. It keeps the drawer really organized and keeps things from moving around too much. And as long as we put things back in the right places, it will stay organized for long periods of time.
Steps For You To Take
Now it’s your turn to declutter, clean, and organize your kitchen utensils. Follow the following steps:
Declutter
- Start by pulling all of your kitchen utensils out of the drawer.
- As you are removing utensils from the drawer, look to see if there are any utensils you can get rid of. Are some of them broken, do you have too many of a certain type, etc?
Clean
- Once you have removed everything from the drawer, wipe it out.
- The last time I cleaned an organized my utensil drawer I noticed that the base of the drawer had some water spots. To further protect the drawer I put down contact paper. You may want to do this!
Organize
- Yay, it’s time to put everything back!
- As you are putting your kitchen utensils back in the drawer, group like items together. Keep your spatulas together, whisks together, turners together, etc!
- If you chose to use an organizer, place each utensil in it’s designated bin or section.
If you chose to store all of your kitchen utensils in a crock. Follow the declutter steps, then wash your crock and dry it. Once it is dry, return the remaining utensils that you decided to keep.
Continue to day 5!
